We recently had the pleasure to catch up with Alvaro Monton, the owner of Codeshield, a pioneering IT company, delivering innovative solutions that drive business success through technology excellence and strategic partnerships.
So tell us about yourself and what led you to set up in business ?
CodeShield was born from a vision to integrate cutting-edge technology solutions with business needs. Our team’s extensive background in software development, coupled with experiences at Microsoft and authoring technical guides and books for them, revealed a gap in the market for high-quality, cost-effective tech solutions. Our passion for technology and desire to bring robust, innovative solutions to businesses led to the creation of CodeShield. We also have an extensive view on business due to our past jobs not only in BIG 4s but also in small and mid companies so we combine very well both worlds, technology and business needs.
What are the types of services that you you provide and what problems that you solve for your customers?
We specialize in software development (including mobile hybrid apps for ios and Android, web, and desktop applications), cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, RPA Automation, and AI integration with business applications. Our services aim to solve a range of customer problems, from enhancing digital capabilities and securing digital assets to streamlining business processes through automation and AI, ensuring our clients stay competitive and efficient.
What is the most challenging aspect of running a business / working freelance?
The most challenging aspect is keeping up with the rapid pace of technological advancements while ensuring the highest quality of service. Balancing innovation with reliable, time-tested solutions is key but challenging, especially when customizing our services to meet diverse client needs.
How do you stay inspired and motivated to run your business / work freelance?
Our motivation stems from seeing the positive impact of our work on our clients’ businesses. Staying engaged with the latest technological trends, participating in tech communities, and seeing our clients thrive with our solutions keeps us inspired and driven.
What one piece of advice would you share with other members on how to overcome business setbacks?
The key piece of advice would be to view setbacks as opportunities for growth. Adaptability and resilience are crucial. Learning from mistakes, staying flexible in your approach, and maintaining a clear vision for the future are essential to navigate through tough times.

I discovered recently Xi’an Street food, authentic and real flavours, highlighting the culinary traditions of Xi’an, China. It specializes in Quick Bites and Chinese fast food, with some of the classics being Qishan soup noodles and dumplings, served with a richly viscous sauce with black vinegar. The signature dish is the Biang Biang noodles, originating from the Shaanxi province, known for their unique use of chillis and spices
