We recently had the pleasure of chatting with Office Suites Club member Erika Cologon to find out more about her Media Training business, how she can help you express your inner leader and her love of Dublin.
So tell us about yourself and what led you to set up in business ?
I am french, I studied in Paris at the Media Academy and worked as a journalist for tv and radio in several countries to include Madagascar, Senegal, Gabon and South Africa. I specialised on politic/development/women empowerment in Africa.
From my experience in television, I found it a natural progression to work in the area of professional media training and the more focused area of self-esteem workshops.
I also provide what are called broadcasted sessions. This comprises of one-to-one exercises on how to manage body language, learning how to speak in front of the camera, work on technics to build a speech and bringing out the speakers tone and emotional impact. The advantage of one-to-one is to create the intimacy needed to shape the specific desired image depending on who we are.
As a professional, I strive to do everything within my power to provide students and other socio-professionals with the opportunity to take advantage of my experience and knowledge of the industry.
What are the types of services that you you provide and what problems that you solve for your customers?
I provide Media Training & Self-esteem workshops as well as sessions for those who are in need of more comfort when a situation is challenging and when they need to express their leadership, for example, when facing the camera or when speaking in public. Usually Media Training can cost €2,000 or more per session, whereas I propose much more affordable rates of less than €200 euros per session.
Do you have any advice for Entrepreneurs who are starting out ?
I just start myself!
