We caught up with Natalie Bagnall founder of The Selling Labs. Natalie tells us how she came to establish The Selling Labs and provides some stellar advice to those thinking of setting up their own business.
So tell us about yourself and what led you to set up in business?
After twenty-five years leading sales teams and then a few years as a coach, I spotted a gap in the market to help businesses improve their sales organisations. The Selling Labs is a boutique consultancy that combines extensive sales experience with in-depth tech sector knowledge (from ten years in Google) and provides tech companies with an injection of sales expertise to help exponentially grow their businesses.
What are the types of services that you you provide and what problems that you solve for your customers?
We provide a series of interventions from single sessions of sales coaching, reviews of a go-to-market strategy, recommendations and execution plans- all designed to improve a company’s sales efforts. We target two types of enterprises: tech start-ups whose Founders are looking to build a client base, to more established organisations
Do you have any advice for Entrepreneurs who are starting out ?
As a Founder, you should acquire the first fifty clients yourself. It keeps you close to the market, you will understand your product’s strengths and gaps and when it comes to building out a sales organisation, you know what you’re looking for in a sales team.
Share your hidden gem about Dublin
I started swimming in the sea during lockdown (as the Med was out of bounds!). There is nothing as exhilarating as twenty minutes in the water looking out at the Dublin mountains. My two favourite spots are the Half Moon Club at Poolbeg and Seapoint just past Blackrock.
