We caught up recently with Sabrina Mackin of ClearPoint Consulting. Sabrina is a Chartered Building Surveyor and she fills us in on why she set up her own business and the services that she provides.
So tell us about yourself and what led you to set up in business ?
I’m a Chartered Building Surveyor. I decided to start my own business as I want to work freelance, to have the freedom to work on a variety of projects and with a variety of clients.
What are the types of services that you you provide and what problems that you solve for your customers?
Technical due diligence for Investors, Occupiers, Lenders. Construction project monitoring for Lenders. Asset Management.

What is the most challenging aspect of running a business / working freelance?
Ensuring regular income and staying on top of invoicing and payments.
How do you stay inspired and motivated to run your business / work freelance?
I love my profession, surveying is a perfect mix of being out in the world interacting with the built environment and with people. I love being of service to a client, getting a deal across the line or getting a portfolio inspected and reports done.
What one piece of advice would you share with other members on how to overcome business setbacks?
